Was walking to get some lunch when I noticed the sidewalk was littered with bits and pieces of former Christmas trees.

January 6, 2009.
Today was about trucks. I saw a fire engine truck parked out the Whole Foods on Houston. The company is stationed in Chinatown. I thought it was pretty cool because it incorporated the neighborhood on the truck.

And on the way back to the office I saw this truck and I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it.

January 4, 2009.
Another pretty day, bright and sunny. It was cold but not too bad. I looked up and saw remnants of a fun filled celebration that happened 4 days ago.
And then in Union Square, I saw a lion with his jaws wide open sitting in the back of a truck.
Tomorrow I return to work as with many others who had a long holiday weekend. (sigh!)

It was a very bright and sunny day but it was still cold though. I was in Jersey City. Got a great shot of Lower Manhattan from Exchange Place.

January 2, 2009.
We were in the midtown area today. We went to check out Carnegie Deli for their famous pastrami sandwich. There is a line to get into the deli - I've never heard of that before. It better be worth the wait, I thought to myself while we waited outside. Luckily, we were the next ones to be seated and it wasn't as cold as it has been.

Afterwards, we went to check out MoMA. It's free admission after 4pm every Fridays. We got to the corner of 53rd and 6th Avenue and there was a line that extended around the corner on 6th Avenue. I guess this was the holiday crowd. We were going to pass on going to MoMA and then these two guys who had just left gave us their tickets; no line for us. It was super crowded inside even though they were managing the flow of letting people in.
The images below were from the industrial design gallery of the museum. I thought these were cute for fence toppers. And check out the heart chain and bear lock.

January 1, 2009.
It was a quiet first day of 2009. We spent the day at the movies which was busy so the only picture I took was that of an empty train station which best described what day was like - quiet, empty, but there was activity around.
