I was in the city briefly and was walking around in the Soho part of town.  There is a a great wall that surrounds a church on Prince Street.

i thought this was a nice looking dog - oh so fluffy!

It was wet day, sort of raining but not really.  I was at the corner of 17th Street and Broadway waiting to cross the street when I heard loud chirping.  I turned around and looked up to see this sparrow.

I thought this was an interesting moment.  Obviously someone had dropped their glove.  Someone noticed it and decided to pick it and put it on this box.  Perhaps the person with the missing glove will retrace his steps back to this location (outside the Kenneth Cole shoe store on Fifth Avenue).

Today is Valentine's Day, a day about love.  Not a really a holiday and not everyone gets into the spirit of this greeting card industry invented holiday but I like it, and it seems like so do others too.

i think these were made by grade school kids as part of their themed art projects.  i probably made something similar too when i was in grade school.

i thought this was a cute thing that these people were doing for this occasion. i didn't get a free hug, unless they were paying...

But not everything I saw today was Valentine's Day related as you can see below...

February 5, 2009.

It was a cold day.  Colder than yesterday but that did not keep the birds from hanging out in the sunny cold day.  I was walking by the public gardens on LaGuardia Place.  The birds were out and chirping away.  The doves were also out but they were quiet.  Both the doves and sparrows were puffed out to keep warm.  The sparrows looked very adorable.  They reminded me of dwarf hamsters.  I got some great close up shots of these birds.  I hope you enjoy them.

P.S. I placed a slideshow because there were way too many pictures for me to load individually onto the blog.  Blogger needs to do something about that.  There has got to be an easier way to upload pictures that don't always end up at the top.

A cold day in February after the snow fall but despite the cold, I was able to take some interesting pictures.  First up is this pretty nice looking motorcycle.

I really like how this garage looks.  Has a nice vintage look about it.

This is a picture of the public gardens on the corner of Bowery and Houston Street, across the street from Whole Foods.

I was walking back to the office along Great Jones Street when I noticed these birds in the storefront of a business called Partners & Spade.
